Katch-McArdle Formula
A BMR formula that uses lean body mass directly, typically more accurate for athletic or low-body-fat individuals.
The Katch-McArdle formula:
BMR = 370 + (21.6 × lean body mass in kg). Because it uses lean body mass instead of body weight, it accounts for differences in body composition and is typically more accurate than Mifflin-St Jeor for athletes and very lean individuals. Requires a body-fat % measurement as input.
