Ketogenic Diet

A very-low-carbohydrate, high-fat diet that shifts metabolism toward burning fat and ketones for fuel.

The ketogenic diet restricts carbohydrates to typically <50 g/day (often <20 g net) to induce nutritional ketosis. Standard macro split: ~70–75% fat, 20–25% protein, 5–10% carbs. For fat loss, keto shows equivalent results to moderate-carb diets at matched calories — benefits are adherence-driven (satiety, reduced cravings). Well-studied clinical uses include drug-resistant epilepsy and some metabolic conditions.
